Irregular periods or irregular cycle’s is an abnormal variation in the length of the menstrual cycle. Usually, menstruation occurs every 28 days but, in some women, it may occur between 21 to 35 days with the regular pattern e.g. Menstruation with the cycle interval of 24 days or 35 days are normal. Irregular menstruation is nothing but menstruation occurring with an interval of 21 days, 29 days, sometime 34 days in the same women.
Irregularity of periods are quite common in puberty(menarche), in premenopausal age (between 45 to 55 years), and during breast feeding.

Irregular periods symptoms may include:
Irregular menstrual cycle – Irregular length of the cycle in every month, for example, one month period comes after 35 days, the next month it does not come even after 40 days.
Longer or shorter cycle – If the cycle interval is more than 36 days or less than 21 days, it is irregular periods.
Abnormal flow - Abnormal flow of menstrual bleeding is seen like some times heavy flow and in some times low flow.
